Aristotle's nutritive, sensitive, rational souls can also be understood as a reflection (+1) by which the nutritive soul is the Unconscious which fosters nourishment and reproduction, the sensitive soul is the Conscious which fosters the satisfaction of desires, and the rational soul is Consciousness, which fosters thinking, chooses when to think.
